Palworld release TIME, launch date for Pokemon with Guns on Xbox and Steam | Gaming | Entertainment

A brand new adventure game that’s been described as Pokemon with guns, Palworld is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The hotly anticipated Palworld has a January 19 release date, and a 7am GMT UK launch time on Steam. It’s unclear exactly what time it will launch on Xbox, but expect it to be available by midday at the latest. As an added bonus, the Xbox version will be available for free on Game Pass.

Judging by the early gameplay footage, the game also appears to share similarities with Monster Hunter.

Players will explore an open-world attempting to capture “Pals”, all the while defeating bosses.

Developer PocketPair explains more: “Embark on an open-world adventure through Palworld, where you can discover and capture over 100 Pals!

“Unveil the secrets of this mysterious land, overcome formidable bosses, and build powerful bases. Use your Pals to do tasks for you and automate entire production lines.”

In addition to capturing Pals and defeating bosses, players will be able to farm the land, build structures, and even open factories.

In a slightly dark twist, you can put the Pals to work in the factories, where they’ll “keep working as long as they’re fed—until they’re dead, that is”.

According to the developer, you’ll also be able to eat Pals in case of an emergency, and poach rare species from wildlife sanctuaries.

“Endangered Pals live in wildlife sanctuaries. Sneak in and capture rare Pals to get rich quick! It’s not a crime if you don’t get caught, after all.”

Interestingly, following the controversy surrounding recent release of The Day Before, Palworld developer Pocketpair has told customers that the game “is not a scam and will definitely be released on January 19”.

“Palworld is a typical Steam game, you buy it once and it is yours forever. While we may consider expansions after the full release, that is a conversation we will all have together, as a community, when the time comes!”
